Teacher express reservations over FDF's committee

ISLAMABAD: Female teachers working in various schools of Islamabad under the wedlock policy have expressed reservations about a committee constituted to examine their service.  A single-member bench of Islamabad High Court (IHC), comprising Chief Justice Athar Minallah, took up petitions filed by the deputationst teachers for hearing on Thursday.  The petitioners' counsel argued before the court that Saqib Shahab director planning, and Azam Gakhar, director legal, Federal Directorate of Education (FDE), have been included in the five- member committee formed to take interviews of the teachers.  Mr Shahab and Mr Gakhar had already issued orders against the petitioners which the IHC declared as void.  While suspending the repatriation orders of the teachers last month, the IHC had ordered that a committee be set up at the ministry level to look into the matters of the teachers working under the wedlock policy. The Higher Education Commission (HEC) launches the the Interim Placement of Fresh PhDs (IPFP) program to create an opportunity for fresh PhDs to obtain academic experience and mentorship, for one year in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), federal/provincial government post-graduate colleges or public sector R&D organizations, prior to their formal entry into the academic job market. The IPFP was established in 2009, and last revised in 2019. PK Universities ban fitted jeans 👖 among others

Acting upon instructions of provincial governor Shah Farman, two Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa universities have moved to issuing strict dress code policies, banning tight-fitted jeans, tee-shirts and makeup among other things. The first to comply was Hazara University in Mansehra, which issued a notification on January 6, putting the order into effect. Per said notification, all university students, faculty and staff were thenceforth required to adhere to a new dress code policy, as prescribed by the university chancellor. According to the policy, termed illiberal and austere by many students, girls were barred from wearing tee-shirts, fitted jeans, heavy makeup and jewelry on campus. They could also no longer carry fancy bags or purses. Boys on the other hand, were banned from sporting tight jeans, wrist chains, long hair, pony-tails and fashionable beard cuts, on university grounds.

A granted of 145 million awarded to UOP

University of Peshawar has been granted 145 million ruppes to run its operations smoothly.  Peshawar (Campus Reporter) University of Peshawar Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Idrees has said that 145 million grant has been received from the provincial government while another 200 million grant has also been promised. This was revealed in a high official meeting of UOP. KPK : The government promoted secondary school teachers to grade 17

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Education Department has decided to upgrade the Secondary School Teachers (SSTs) posted in government schools in different districts, including Peshawar, on a permanent basis, under which the SST has been upgraded from 16 to 17. A letter was issued to the Finance Department by the higher authorities stating that the Director Education Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had sent recommendations for the upgradation of SST by the SST Welfare Association on January 26, 2021.  He was recommended to upgrade SST from BPS 16 to 17 - after which the recommendations were presented in the meeting of the Provincial Standing Committee on which the Standing Committee of the Provincial Assembly approved the upgradation and sent to the government for further process. In the light of which all SSTs who have master's and B.Ed degree will be upgraded from 16-BPS to 17-BPS. Source : Awasaf
