KPK : The government promoted secondary school teachers to grade 17

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Education Department has decided to upgrade the Secondary School Teachers (SSTs) posted in government schools in different districts, including Peshawar, on a permanent basis, under which the SST has been upgraded from 16 to 17.

A letter was issued to the Finance Department by the higher authorities stating that the Director Education Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had sent recommendations for the upgradation of SST by the SST Welfare Association on January 26, 2021.  He was recommended to upgrade SST from BPS 16 to 17 - after which the recommendations were presented in the meeting of the Provincial Standing Committee on which the Standing Committee of the Provincial Assembly approved the upgradation and sent to the government for further process.

In the light of which all SSTs who have master's and B.Ed degree will be upgraded from 16-BPS to 17-BPS.
